Here you will find your gateway to entering the alpaca lifestyle. We began our alpaca adventure after a 2003 trip to Peru. Upon returning home, we discovered that the U.S. supported many alpaca farms and ranches. After much research and several visits to various alpaca ranches, we purchased three female alpacas (2 pregnant) as our foundation herd in August of 2004. Credit must be given to Linda Gardner of the Blue Moon Ranch in Woodland, Utah who took the time to answer all our questions and gave us a tour of her ranch. This scenario was what hooked us and with more investigation we were fortunate to visit Alpacas de la Patagonia on Camano Island in Washington who also helped seal our decision to move ahead with this lifestyle. We have started from scratch and have learned many things along this journey that we want to share with you. Our goals are to produce a happy, healthy, high-quality herd of alpacas and create a business relationship that is open, honest, and friendly. Sun Gate proudly introduces to the central Wyoming area well-known bloodlines including but not limited to... PPeruvian Caligula, Peruvian Hemingway G 171, Lanark's Silver Charm, Sinopsis Nocturna, HFL Super Sam, PPPeruvian Grand Master, and Dom Lucilio. We also offer unique gifts from our ranch store such as yarns and goods made from our own Wyoming alpacas. We will also carry a variety of artistic items created by a truly wonderful Peruvian artist, Pablo Seminario, whose studio is located in Urubamba, Peru, in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Our Mission
Our mission as alpaca breeders is to create a healthy, happy, high-quality herd of North American-Wyoming alpacas. We are committed to our business and to raising alpacas. We will promote alpacas through education, selective breeding, support services to our customers, and sound business practices. While we offer alpacas for sale, we also give our customers a level of service that encourages return business and friendships that support and encourage the care and well being of these wonderful animals.

2008 Great Western Alpaca Show. Our Gus placed third in his class and Zerlina's fleece won a sixth in the hand spinning contest.
