If you see an alpaca that you are interested in please contact us. We are certainly open to discussing our animals and doing business with you. Remember that WHO you buy from is as important as WHAT you buy. Purchasing alpacas is a big step, but they also bring a rewarding and pleasurable lifestyle. This gorgeous gray Chilean girl has spots of maroon, a half maroon topknot, and is very gentle to handle. She is sired by Canadian MMR Teijuan and her dam is Cava MME Cargual Redondo – an import. Noel has produced three very fine crias and is an excellent mother. She is currently bred to Destino’s Ben Gray and is due in June ’08. Amy is our oldest, but one of our finest girls. She is Sun Gate’s matriarch. Amy is a very experienced mom and has produced some of the best traits we’ve see in several of our crias here at Sun Gate. Amy’s sire Colten, a true black, was sired by Silvercloud, a medium silver gray and white guy. Her dam is a daughter of NWA, LTD Senator Taft. For the past three years, Amy has provided us with three wonderful female crias, one who won third place at the 2007 Great Western Alpaca Show in Denver. Yucay is a special boy to us. He was our first born and has very unique colors and pattern. Yucay is named after a Peruvian city we visited in 2003. Bandido’s sire is Patagonia’s Aysen (a gray) and his grand-sire is the famous gray, Danko. His dam is our dark brown girl, Flossie. Bandido was our first cria born at Sun Gate. He is a gentle boy with above average density, nice crimp, and the possibility of throwing grays. His fleece appears more a chocolate brown than the tips show. Bandido is always first to greet us and visitors and loves his peppermint treats! He is being offered at $2,500 or as a package deal with another male from Sun Gate for $4,000.

SUN GATE’S Cuzco: Light Brown

Be prepared to fall in love with little boy. Cuzco is the one of the cutest boys on our ranch. His genology shows him to be part Chilean and part Peruvian. His grand sire is HFL Super Sam out of Canada. His sire, High Plains Aviator is one of the standing studs at Lavender Field's in CO. Cuzco has a playful personality and is gentle to handle. Cuzco displays average density and very fine fleece. A fleece histogram and fleece sample are available to interested parties. As with all animals the second year's shearing will bring a more reliable fleece report. Cuzco is currently being offered along with the purchase of his mother, Molly for $ 16,000, or sold indivdually for $2,500 or as a package with another Sun Gate male for $4,000.

SUN GATE’S PACHACUTEC: Medium/Dark Brown

Pachacutec (Pach for short) is named after the Inca Emperor who built Machu Picchu. This young fellow is mostly a medium brown with darker nose and legs. His fleece is above average in density and has an AFD of 19.9 and a comfort factor of 97.4%. His new second growth is showing some very positive characteristics! Pach has great conformation along with fine fleece with a nice crimp that makes him a very likely candidate for being a Jr. herdsire. Pachacutec is currently offered at $2,500 or as part of a package deal with another Sun Gate male for $4,000.

Gelded fiber/companion Boys
Sun Gate is offering two gelded boys for sale. You might wonder why buy a gelded animal? We have found these two boys to be excellent companions in pastures with our yearlings, as great fiber contributors, and as a companion for a traveling or quarantined animal. These animals also are great pets and make good 4-H projects for kids interested in alpacas yet not wanting to pay market price for breeding stock. These two boys may be sold individually, as a package of two, or combined with any of the males or females listed. Remember that alpacas are highly stressed to live alone and need others around them for comfort and security. Because of this, we do not want to sell just one animal knowingly without a companion. If you are interested, but don’t have the facilities for an animal, please visit with us about boarding animals.

Marcello is big guy that produces many skeins of off white yarn/roving that can be used naturally or dyed to compliment a creative idea. Milo’s fleece produces a very nice natural heather tan yarn. He would be an excellent companion animal for others. We have seen a big improvement in his disposition since being gelded.
