Sun Gate is currently offering two special herdsires, Peregrin Took (Pippin) and Augustus of Windy Ridge (grandson to PPeruvian Caligula) for service. These boys are colorful, gentle boys with quality fleeces and great conformation. Pippin (below right) bred three of our females for three 2008 fall crias. Fleece histograms are available on these three wonderful crias displaying some very fine quality fleeces - fine, dense, and crimpy! Gus (on the left) has two crias, Quito and Zorita, on the ground and all we can say is WOW! He has another two 2010 crias on the way. We guarantee a 30-day live birth. Drive-by breedings available within a 200 mile radius of Casper, WY. Please contact us for details.
Doug & Lisa Tyson have just added another Junior Herdsire, Sun Gate's Gunsmoke. Gunsmoke has some of the best fleece we have here at Sun Gate - he's a dark fawn/ taupe color. His first shearing yielded fleece so long and so fine it wasn't able to be spun commercially. His grandsires are Peruvian Hemingway and PPPeruvian Grand Master.

Gunsmoke's fleece is very dense, fine and has a wonderful crimp. He color is usual and though we classified him as a dark fawn that color is still in question. He appears to be more a taupe color. We are planning to breed him with a grey to see what results. Gunsmoke loves to vie for attention and has been known to spit when challenged, but overall he's a big fluffy baby! We plan to bred him with several of Sun Gate girls for 2011 crias. Awards: 2009 ABR Fall Festival - 5th place Halter and Second place Fleece. Fall 2009 - Fiber Fiesta (Ohio) - 4th place Fleece.
